Tei Street, Director Tei Street currently serves as the Director of the Mayor’s Office of Education for the City of Columbus. Tei received her undergraduate and graduate degrees from The Ohio State University, and is a proud graduate of Columbus Mifflin High School. She serves as Secretary of the Board of Trustees of I Know I Can, member of the National Education Policy Advisory’s Network (EPAN) for the National League of Cities, member of the Central Ohio Workforce Investment Corporation’s Youth Council, member of Academic Acceleration Academy Board of Education, member of Columbus City Schools’ Neighborhood Schools Development Partnership, member of the Advisory Council for the Columbus Urban League’s Head Start Program, and member of the Ohio Broadcasters Association’s Community Advisory Board.
Tei was the recipient of the Chamber of Commerce’s Outstanding Young Citizen Award, Business First Magazine’s Forty Under 40 Award, is listed in the last three editions of Who’s Who in Black Columbus and is a member of the Columbus (OH) Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., and the Black Women’s Collective (BWC), and serves as Vice Chair of the Alliance of African American Organizations (A3O). She is a graduate of United Way’s Project Diversity, Leadership Columbus, and the African American Leadership Academy.
Tei authored an inspirational book for youth titled, “I’m the Amazing Tei Street? Wouldn’t You Like To Be Amazing, Too?” When not working, she enjoys spending quality time with her son, Christopher and the rest of her family. Kirsten Fluellen, Program Manager Ms. Fluellen has been a Program Manager with the city for many years. She is now responsible for managing the four Capital Kids pilot sites and the contracts for 16 additional sites. Diane Berinato, Fiscal Officer Ms. Berinato is the Fiscal Officer for the Capital Kids program and the Office of Education. She has a degree in business from Ohio State University and an MBA from Ashland University. She came to us after spending 8 years in the Auditor's Office. Her fiscal duties will involve working with funds from the city, Federal grant money and donations. She looks forward to becoming more involved with Capital Kids programs. Marvene Mitchell, Executive Assistant II Ms. Mitchell is the Development Strategist and Public Information Officer for the Office of Education. She has a Bachelors of Arts (BA) Degree from Central State University and a Masters in Public Administration (MPA) from the University of Dayton. Her primary responsibilities include fundraising, special events coordinator, grant seeking and writing, and developing partnerships with both the public and private sector. She also assists the Fiscal Officer with budgetary issues. She came to us after spending 1 year in the Finance and Management Department.
