City Helping Two Columbus Companies Grow
(Columbus) Mayor Michael B. Coleman continues to work with City Council on job creation and retention to boost the economy of Columbus, and is forwarding legislation on Monday that will help Abbott Nutrition's Ross Products Division and Heartland Petroleum expand. The two incentive packages will help leverage more than $58 million in private investment, protecting more than 2,000 jobs and creating 112.

2007 City of Columbus General Fund Budget
Mayor releases 2007 General Fund Budget proposal On November 15, 2006, Mayor Michael B. Coleman joined his cabinet and dozens of neighborhood leaders to unveil the details of the proposed 2007 General Fund Budget. This $631 million plan will guide City operations, including the Divisions of Police and Fire which make up 70% of GF spending.

City Taking Next Steps to Tackle Blighted Woodland Meadows
“Vacant and abandoned buildings are a drain on a neighborhood and attract crime, and Woodland Meadows is the worst of the worst in Columbus,” said Mayor Coleman. “All 122 buildings at the Woodland Meadows Apartment Complex need to come down and we are demanding that the owner be held accountable. We’ve pushed every angle to get the owner to cooperate, and now we’re asking the Environmental Court to step in and make things happen.”

COLUMBUS – The Franklin County Board of Elections has certified the results of a request for additional funding for the Central Ohio Transit Authority (COTA). Voters have approved an additional 0.25 percent, 10-year renewable sales and use tax to fund COTA’s Long-Range Transit Plan (LRTP).

Pedestrian Countdown Timers Coming To Columbus
(Columbus) Timers that will show pedestrians how many seconds they have to cross the street will be operational Friday afternoon, Nov. 17, at the intersection of West Broad Street, Civic Center Drive and Marconi Boulevard.
