 The City of Columbus Division of Fleet Management has been honored by the 100 Best Fleets program as the 17th best fleet operation in the country.

- Finance Director Joel Taylor Retiring After Nine Years
 After almost a decade as director of the Department of Finance and Management, Joel S. Taylor will retire from the City of Columbus July 31. Mayor Michael B. Coleman has tapped Deputy Finance and Management Director Paul R. Rakosky as Taylor’s replacement.

- Mayor, COWIC Announce Plan to Employ 2,500 Young People
 Mayor Michael B. Coleman joined the Central Ohio Workforce Investment Corporation, Columbus City Councilmember Eileen Y. Paley and Franklin County Commissioners President Paula Brooks to announce the COWIC 2009 Summer Jobs Program that will put 2,500 young people to work this summer.

- Mayor, Council Announce Neighborhood Pride Areas for 2009
 The 10th season of Neighborhood Pride began today on the city’s Far East Side in the Tussing Blockwatch neighborhood.

- Mayor, Council Set Stage For 1,000 New JP Morgan Chase Jobs
 Supported by Mayor Michael B. Coleman, Columbus City Council will approve legislation tonight that will result in an expected operations expansion by JP Morgan Chase Bank. Council will offer Chase a Jobs Growth Incentive of 35 percent for eight years and a Job Creation Tax Credit of 65 percent for 10 years.

- City Officials Announce 10-Year Reform Blueprint
 Mayor Michael B. Coleman, Columbus City Council, City Auditor Hugh J. Dorrian and City Attorney Richard C. Pfeiffer today announced a comprehensive plan of government reforms and efficiencies that is expected to save the City of Columbus between $100 million and $150 million over the next decade.

- Columbus Economic Advisory Committee Final Report
 The Economic Advisory Committee released its final report for the consideration of Mayor Michael B. Coleman and Columbus City Council. Mayor Coleman and Council President Michael C. Mentel appointed the 15 member committee of government, business and neighborhood leaders in early 2008 to study city expenditures and revenues.  

- Mayor Presents 2009 State of the City
Calling on residents to come together and step up for their community in these difficult times, Mayor Michael B. Coleman tonight rolled out his 2009 State of the City Address. This is the Mayor’s 10th Annual Address, which centered on his three-point plan to get Columbus through the current economic crisis through creating jobs, reforming government, and obtaining new revenue.
